Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 16 oz package of little smokies (or small cooked sausages)
  • 15 slices bacon, each cut into 3 smaller sections
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • pinch black pepper (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. Prepare a jelly roll pan or large baking sheet with a rim by lining it with aluminum foil and lightly coating it with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. Pat the sausages dry with a paper towel.
  4. Wrap each sausage with a piece of bacon and secure it with a toothpick.
Coating
  1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the brown sugar, cayenne, and black pepper.
  2. Add several of the bacon-wrapped sausages to the bag, seal it, and shake gently to coat. Repeat this step with all remaining sausages.
Baking
  1. Line the coated sausages on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the bacon is browned.
  2. For extra crispness, broil for a couple of minutes after baking.

Notes

Serve warm with toothpicks and optionally with BBQ sauce or honey mustard for dipping. For leftovers, let them cool completely and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 350°F until warmed through.
