  • 1 sheet puff pastry Thawed if frozen
  • 1 bunch asparagus Tender and crisp
  • 1 cup cream cheese Softened to room temperature
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg for egg wash Beaten for brushing
  • to taste Salt and pepper For seasoning

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into squares, roughly 4×4 inches.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream cheese, grated Parmesan, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture onto each square of puff pastry.
  5. Add 2-3 asparagus spears on top of the cheese mixture.
  6. Fold the corners of the puff pastry over the asparagus and cheese, sealing the edges well.
  7. Brush the top with beaten egg.
  8. Place the bundles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Cooking
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Serve warm, straight from the oven.

Notes

These bundles can be made ahead of time; simply assemble and refrigerate until ready to bake. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
