Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the streusel topping. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Stir in the sour cream, then gradually add the dry ingredients until just combined. Fold in the diced apples.
Assembly and Baking
- Spread half the batter into the loaf pan, sprinkle with half the streusel. Add the rest of the batter on top, then finish with the remaining streusel.
- Place in the oven and bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Drizzle with glaze once cooled.
