Ingredients
  

For the Hamburger Mixture
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • to taste Salt and pepper
For the Sauce
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
For Serving
  • Mashed potatoes For serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix together the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into patties and place them in a baking dish.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and beef broth. Pour this mixture over the patties.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until the patties are cooked through.
Serving
  1. Serve the hamburger steaks over a bed of mashed potatoes and spoon the creamy mushroom sauce over everything.
  2. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat in the microwave or oven. This dish can be frozen for up to three months.
