Ingredients
  

For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets Sockeye salmon fillets Preferably wild-caught from Alaska.
  • 3 cloves Fresh garlic Minced or grated.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil or butter Adds richness to the dish.
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs Such as dill, thyme, rosemary, or parsley.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice Enhances flavors.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt To taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red pepper flakes Optional for extra heat.

Method
 

Marinating the Salmon
  1. In a small bowl, mix minced garlic, chopped herbs, olive oil (or melted butter), and lemon juice.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a dish or resealable bag and coat them evenly with the mixture.
  3. Let it marinate for at least 15–30 minutes in the fridge.
Cooking Methods
  1. Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the marinated salmon fillets skin-side down on the tray. Bake for 12–15 minutes.
  2. Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grates and grill the fillets skin-side down for 3–4 minutes per side.
  3. Pan-Searing: Heat a pan over medium-high heat with a bit of oil. Place the fillets skin-side down and cook for 4–5 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2–3 minutes.

Notes

Serve with roasted vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, or a crisp salad for a complete meal. Don’t overcook salmon; it should be flaky yet moist (internal temperature of 125°F–130°F is ideal).
