Ingredients
  

Ajwain Water
  • 1 tablespoon ajwain seeds Use fresh ajwain seeds for the best flavor.
  • 2 cups water
Ajwain Tea
  • 1 teaspoon ajwain seeds Honey can be added for sweetness.
  • 1 cup water
Ajwain Snack
  • 2 tablespoons ajwain seeds Can add different spices for unique flavors.
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • to taste teaspoon salt
Ajwain Infused Oil
  • 1 cup oil (olive or coconut) Store in a cool, dark place.
  • 2 tablespoons ajwain seeds
Ajwain in Buttermilk
  • 1 cup buttermilk Best consumed fresh.
  • 1 teaspoon ajwain seeds
  • to taste teaspoon salt
  • optional leaves mint For added freshness.

Method
 

Ajwain Water
  1. Boil 2 cups of water in a pot.
  2. Add 1 tablespoon of ajwain seeds to the boiling water.
  3. Reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Strain the water into a cup.
  5. Allow it to cool slightly before drinking.
Ajwain Tea
  1. Boil 1 cup of water in a pot.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of ajwain seeds to the boiling water.
  3. Let it steep for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Strain into a cup and add honey if desired.
Ajwain Snack
  1. In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour and salt.
  2. Add ajwain seeds to the mixture.
  3. Slowly add water and knead to form a dough.
  4. Roll out small portions to make flatbreads.
  5. Cook on a hot pan until golden brown on both sides.
Ajwain Infused Oil
  1. Heat 1 cup of oil in a pan on low heat.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of ajwain seeds.
  3. Allow it to simmer gently for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and let it cool.
  5. Strain the oil and store it in a bottle.
Ajwain in Buttermilk
  1. In a bowl, mix 1 cup buttermilk with salt.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon of ajwain seeds to the buttermilk.
  3. Stir well and add chopped mint leaves if desired.

Notes

It’s best to prepare ajwain water and tea fresh for maximum benefits. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for no more than one day.
