Preparation
- Use a sturdy glass to press down in the center of each bread slice to create a well for the egg. Be careful not to tear the bread.
- Use your fingers to smooth out the indent so the egg can spread nicely.
- Butter the bread using salted butter.
- Spray a rack in the air fryer basket with oil to prevent the bread from sticking.
- Crack one egg into a small dish, making sure not to break the yolk.
- Pour the egg into the indentation in one piece of bread. Repeat with the second egg and second slice of bread.
- Sprinkle a little kosher salt and pepper on the eggs to taste.
Cooking
- Air fry at 375℉ for 6 minutes for an over-easy runny yolk, or an additional minute or two for a more cooked yolk.
- Use a spatula to carefully remove the egg toast from the air fryer. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Air Fryer Egg Toast is best served hot. It can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh fruit or a side of crispy bacon. Consider adding herbs or a dash of hot sauce for extra flavor.
