Preparation
- Turn on your air fryer to 400°F.
- Rinse the russet potatoes under water using a vegetable scrubber to clean off dirt.
- Pat the potatoes dry with paper towels and place them on a cutting board.
- Use a fork to poke holes in each potato to allow steam to escape while cooking.
- Coat the potatoes with neutral oil and sprinkle with coarse sea salt.
Cooking
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer. If your air fryer basket is small or potatoes are large, work in batches.
- Cook for 30 minutes, checking for doneness by inserting a fork.
- If the fork doesn’t go in smoothly, cook for another 5 minutes and repeat until desired texture is reached.
Finishing Up
- Remove the potatoes from the air fryer and place them on the cutting board.
- Make a shallow cut down the middle of each potato without slicing them completely in half.
- Press on the edges to open them up, allowing steam to escape.
- Use a fork to fluff the insides and add your favorite toppings before serving.
Notes
Experiment with different toppings such as butter, sour cream, chives, or shredded cheese.
